Missouri State University - Decemember 2012 Graduation

ABOUT ME

Growing up with a parent who is an educator, I saw first hand the satisfaction that teaching brings. The impact education and teachers have on students was clear in the stories my mom shared about her days at school. I spent many days of my childhood in my mom’s classroom, often times bringing home old worksheets to play "school" with my classroom of stuffed animals.

Becoming a teacher and working with children has always been something I knew I would do. The influence of many great teachers who made learning fun and exciting inspired me to pursue a career as a teacher.

After high school I left St. Charles, Missouri to pursue a degree in Education at Missouri State University in Springfield. During my time in Springfield I was afforded many opportunities to work in Springfield Public Schools. It was during my experiences in the schools that I decided I would declare an emphasis in literacy.

After graduation I secured a teaching job in the Camdenton R3 School district. I have spent the past year teaching 4th grade at Hawthorn Elementary. I have grown so much from my students and my fellow teachers.
